Hey friends! Back when C squad was calling Georgia home, we got the privilege of going through the blitz course from global u! It was a week where we got to think about our dreams & core values! Really cool & really informative!!

One of our activities was going through a long list of values, and narrowing them down to 5 core values! It was hard to whittle down all of my values into just 5 words, but I did it, and through a lot of thought & prayer, I’ve come to 5 values that I think are at the core of my being-how cool is that! Here’s the list I’ve come up with & why they’re important to me!

Love- wow, wow, wow! What a powerful word! I think as a society, we are quick to forget what a weight that word carries. LOVE! I so value love, because it is God given!! And we get to freely love others as the father loves us! What a privilege! I want to walk in love in all aspects of my life, and be able to show all people love as the father shows me love day by day! What a gift we get to give to others! love!

Community- community! At first in this spot, I had family. And while I so love my family, and they are so so important to me, I wanted a word that encompasses all people. Community is the word I landed on, and what a sweet word it is! Community makes me think of all of the people in my life I love; my friends, my squad here from Gainesville, my family! Community is such a blessing, getting to live life with other people is so dang sweet!

Humility- An interesting word that came out of this activity! Before this, I don’t think I would have thought of service as something that is important to me! But I realized that it is! There is so much beauty in serving other people, and putting others ahead of yourself. When I think of humility, I’m reminded of Philippians 2:3-5, “Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus” what a beautiful image of God, to serve others without expecting anything in return. And viewing others as more valuable than myself.

Empathy- again, such a good word! Something that is always so heavy on my heart, empathy! Caring deeply about what the people around me are going through and feeling! Empathy is such a sweet result in human connection. Being able to help others through the difficult things going on in their life, by putting myself in their shoes. Seeing others from a perspective outside of my own. So dang good, and such a God given gift!

Imago dei – this one may be my fav (thanks rikky for the word) imago dei. Image of God. This is the idea that all people are created in the image of God. How beautiful! Viewing every person on this earth for what they are- a child of the creator of the universe, and made in the likeness of the Lord! To me this symbolizes viewing every person I come into contact with how God views them! As beloved sons & daughters! Made in his own dang image!
